Dingbat Enamel Pin

The Dingbat is a two- or three-story apartment building with parking underneath. They were first built in Sunbelt cities in the 1950s, and are most commonly associated with Southern California, and Los Angeles in particular. The name “dingbat” comes from the star-shaped ornaments that decorate these buildings’ exteriors. Though dingbats were often reviled in their time, they have since become appreciated for their unique, kitschy aesthetic.

Show your LA pride with this 1.5"-tall soft enamel pin, the second in a series of American vernacular housing types.
