New Orleans Shotgun House

The New Orleans Shotgun is a narrow, colorful housing type that become ubiquitous during the city’s 19th-century population booms. They were allegedly named as such because one could shoot a bullet from the front door and all the way though the house to the back door without hitting a wall.
